Organization is the foundation of the entire Main Street program. A strong organizational base with committed funding and dedicated volunteers enables communities to enact an effective revitalization program. By partnering with the various and diverse groups in the community to reach consensus on important issues while creating a shared vision for Story City, the program will be consistently strong.

The Organizational Committee is responsible for three important components in Main Street:

  • Assisting the board of directors with planning and implementation of the annual fund drive
  • creating projects to supplement the budget as needed and volunteers to do the work of the program
  • facilitating communication within the organization and with the community at large

Organization means making sure everyone is working toward the same goal. This committee is responsible for attracting people and money to the organization. It is the personnel department of the program, keeping the volunteers productive and happy, while creatively setting the stage to build a solid financial foundation.

Story City Main Street's Organization Committee is extremely energetic, organized, creative, open to new ideas while smart enough to review old ideas, and they have fun while they work. The committee understands their role of focusing on communications, volunteers and funding for the program.
